JOINT STATEMENT FROM MATTHEW WHITAKER AND SPENCER SUTTON REGARDING THE EVOLUTION OF THEIR PARTNERSHIP

BIRMINGHAM, AL – After many years of shared microphones, synchronized stage presence, and a relationship synonymous with the Evernest brand, Matthew Whitaker and Spencer Sutton have made the difficult but loving decision to consciously uncouple their professional lives.

We have always conducted our partnership with the utmost transparency, and while we are deeply grateful for the lives we’ve chosen to lead together in the public eye, that same visibility brings the responsibility of sharing this news directly with our community.

“We fell deeply in business-love 11 years ago and have had a magical journey together,” the pair said in a joint statement. “Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we respect one another, but the ‘beautiful adventure’ of real estate is taking us on different paths for now. We are simply two best friends realizing it is time to take some space to help each other live our most joyous, fulfilled lives.”

Matthew and Spencer remain fully committed to co-parenting the legacy of the Evernest podcast and ensuring the transition is as seamless as possible for the stakeholders they both cherish. They will continue to be each other’s biggest fans, though they will now be cheering from separate green rooms.

At this time, we ask the media, the real estate community, and our loyal listeners to respect our privacy as we navigate this new chapter. There will be no further comment, as we are currently busy dividing the shared assets of our LinkedIn endorsements and deciding who gets custody of the podcast intro music.

Spencer Sutton
Director of Marketing
Spencer wakes up with marketing and lead generation on his mind. Early in his real estate career, he bought and sold over 150 houses in Birmingham, which has helped him craft Evernest marketing campaigns from a landlord’s perspective. He enjoys creating content that helps guide new and veteran investors through the complexities of the real estate market, helping them avoid some of the pitfalls he encountered. Spencer is also passionate about leadership development and co-hosts The Evernest Property Management Show with Matthew Whitaker. Spencer has traveled to some of the most remote parts of the world with a non-profit he founded, Neverthirst (India, Sudan, South Sudan, Nepal, Central African Republic, etc..), but mostly loves to hang out with his wife, kids, and the world’s best black lab, Jett.
