Evernest, a national, full-service real estate and property management firm, announced today that they have acquired Virginia-based RPM Direct.
The acquisition adds approximately 325 homes to Evernest’s Virginia portfolio and, along with other recent purchases, boosts the firm’s overall properties managed to more than 15,000 nationwide.
“Virginia has been an important single family rental market for us since a large-scale merger in July, 2022,” said Matthew Whitaker, Evernest Founder and CEO. “The RPM acquisition in Woodbridge represents an expanded footprint, services and expertise for Evernest, which will benefit our investor clients. We have an excellent property management team already in place in Virginia to aid in the onboarding – this will benefit our newly acquired clients for a smooth transition.”
“Evernest’s strong commitment to client satisfaction was a key consideration in selling my business,” said RPM Direct owner Michele Odems. “As I look toward retirement, I wanted to ensure my clients were left in capable hands. Evernest was the natural solution.”
RPM Direct is the 37th organization purchased by Evernest, one of twelve purchased within the last six months, and one of four that closed 12/31/22. “Our goal is to find best-in-class property management providers in select markets who are ready to exit the industry,” said Whitaker. “We take the legacy they’ve built and infuse it with our distinctive culture – which includes a boots on the ground team, in-house brokerage services, and in-house underwriting – and provide a national, world-class, property management experience for our owners and tenants.”
Based in Birmingham, Ala., Evernest operates in 29 real estate markets across the country. It is one of the nation’s largest single-family and small multifamily investment brokers and property management providers. The firm manages more than 15,000 homes for over 5,500 owners, brokers more than 1,000 investment deals annually, and has made the Inc. 5000 list six of the last seven years.
